NBB’s Commitment

We believe that the rich Ballet traditions should be shared through community performances at a reasonable cost to those who participate. NBB has made a conscience decision to fabricate as much as we can and owns the majority of the sets, props and costumes required to put on our performances. This allows us to charge modest participation and costume fees compared to companies that rent the entire production. Miss Laura and Mr. Bob donate their time and talents to NBBCo - the Participation and Costume Fees pay off the debt NBB incurred acquiring all the props and costumes, and covers any venue fees or consumable items that need to purchased, for NBBCo's performances. NBBCo also provides volunteer aprons and t-shirts, first-aide and sewing kits, as well as emergency hair and make-up supplies for dancers. Please note that Dancer's T-Shirt and Boutique items are purchased separately.

Participation and Costume Fees

There is a one-time $50 per family participation fee that covers the entire 2008/9 Performance Season. The costume fee for each performance is separate from the Participation Fee. The costumes fee are $45 for both Beatrix Potter and Nutcracker. Please note that the costume fee is per dancer and not per costume so, for instance, if your dancer is participating in Nutcracker and has three parts in three different costumes, the costume rental fee is $45.

Parents are responsible for purchasing tights, shoes, nude camisole leotard, cosmetics and hair needs, water and snacks for their dancer. Dancer performance T-shirts and Boutique items are optional items that parents may purchase for their dancer.

Family Commitments

·         Families will make a commitment to attend classes, rehearsals and performances. Dancers will arrive early enough so that they are ready when it’s their time to rehearse. All dancers should be in their ballet attire and hair pulled back and up per student dress code.

·         Families will volunteer their time and talent to help put on a quality performance. Our volunteer opportunities are shown on the attached sheet.

·         Families will provide the dancer with good rest and nutrition prior to rehearsals and performances (please refrain from slumber parties with soda and candy prior to rehearsals & performances).

·         Families will provide tights, shoes, nude camisole leotard, cosmetics and hair needs for their dancers

·         Families will follow all guidelines at rehearsal and performances - failure to do so may lead to dismissal from a rehearsal or even from the production.

Dancers Commitments

·         Dancers will attend all classes, rehearsals and performances

·         Dancers should be prepared for rehearsals/performances and put forth their best effort

·         Dancers need to be respectful to all others and their belongings

·         Dancers will follow directions given by supervising adults and follow all guidelines - failure to do so may lead to cast reassignment, dismissal from a rehearsal or even dismissal from the performance.

Please understand that a missed rehearsal by any one dancer negatively affects the whole group – there are many interactions (cues) on stage that are impossible to learn well if one of the group is missing.
