Spring Showcase Over The Years

February is a Fabulous Month to Start at NBB!

February is Fabulous time to Make new friends and begin a rewarding experience for your dancer. our Spring Showcase is right around the corner, but there may yet be time to order a costumes for your dancer (you'll need to check with Miss Laura). NBB is a Classical ballet school with traditional values and an outstanding staff. We take Pride in teaching and being a school - we expect to educate your child! While we naturally focus on teaching the art of dance, We also work on social skills, being responsible and problem solving as these facilitate the dance instruction. NBB is also well able to prepare older students for the larger world - our older dancers have participated in national auditions and earned invitations to acclaimed summer Dance Intensives.

Try out a class

Your dancer can try out a class while you observe through the one-way mirror in the parent observation area. Afterwards, you and your dancer can visit with Miss Laura and ask any questions. Please check our schedule and contact Miss Laura with the class that you would like to try. You do not need to purchase ballet gear to try a class: capris, t-shirt, grippy socks (or bare foot) and hair pulled back into a bun is all that is needed to try a class. Miss Laura will let you know if there are any other specifics once you contact her with the class you want to try.

Ready to Register

  • Please contact Miss Laura to make sure there is room in the class you are interested in
  • Outfit your dancer for class - please see our Dress Code for what is needed and what should be avoided. We recommend Sue's Dance Boutique as Sue knows and stocks our dress code and takes the time to fit dancers correctly.
  • Arrive a few minutes early for your first class to meet Miss Laura. You can download and complete the Registration form ahead of time or pick-up and complete a form at the studio. Registration/tuition payment should be turned in with your registration form.

Thank you for your interest in New Bern Ballet, and we hope to see you and your dancer soon!

NBB prides itself in being a school and not just a dance studio. It's not just about learning Ballet and appreciating the art form...it's about learning life-skills —from 2 year-olds being a good turn-taker to teenagers becoming responsible role models.
